Soon it will be time to turn the clocks to light-up, but I do not think I will be ready to give up my habit of a steamed-milk drink every afternoon for a while.
It was last year, during the evangelical Nutcracker season, Fille & I had taken a trip to pick out our Operation Santa letters and after, before heading back to the parking garage and all the dang in-the-dark driving, we stopped at a café where I ordered a "steamer" or "latte" or something. I don't know why I fell so in love with it.
Then I found a milk steamer, which makes coffee on the side (I cared about that exactly one time). There was a bit of trial & error, oh! & then Minty told me how she has made hot cocoa with a steamer, which is good bc ... omg, sentences, hang on.
I knew that cow's milk would foam when I got the hang of steaming/frothing. I also knew that almond milk was more fussy and also success is brand-to-brand, so I was able to make Mari's hot cocoa with the cow's milk to practice my technique and then enter the dark world of plant-milk foam.
But I might be getting kind of good at it. Idgaf abt making the heart shape, I like heaps of foam. (Mari gets Reddi-Wip, like a civilized person.) At the end of every afternoon, right after Fille leaves for B-school but before I pick up that day's to-do list, I make a foamy tea drink. Even with the sesame ginger drink, I've started making it inside out, where I blend it up with ginger tea & all the ingredients then top it off with foamy milk.
Well, in the afternoon serving of that drink. I also found a way to tolerate matcha is to mix it up with hot cocoa. It is still awful, but omg matcha is so good for you! Ok, ly see you, spring break on deck x
